Hi everyone! 2015 is coming to an end and since I’m still reading through 2015 books, I’m just going to list 10 books that will be coming next year, ones to look forward to.
- Lady Midnight (Cassandra Clare)
This is the first book of a new series in the Shadowhunter world. Lady Midnight is set five years after The Mortal Instruments, Emma Carstairs is on the path to discovering what happened to her parents and exact revenge.
2. The Court of Mist and Fury (Sarah J. Maas)
This sequel continues the rich retelling of Beauty and the Beast with Feyre trying to fight through obstacles set by the Fae. It’s a fairytale to sweep off your feet.
3. The Rose and the Dagger (Renee Ahdieh)
Another sequel to one of the best books this year The Wrath and the Dawn, The Rose and the Dagger follows Shahrzad who is torn between her husband Khalid, the Caliph, and her people who are planning to destroy the Caliph’s empire.
4. A Torch Against the Night (Sabaa Tahir)
I’m still reading the first one An Ember in the Ashes, but I’m so in love that I can’t wait for the sequel already. I can’t say more because the blurb will spoil Ember for me, but yay!
5. Passenger (Alexandra Bracken)
Other than a beautiful cover, Passenger sounds like an amazing start to a amazing new series. It follows Etta who’s on a journey of perils in search for a valued object which is also pursued by others.
6. The Glittering Court (Richelle Mead)
From one of my favourite authors comes a new series. The Glittering Court is about Adelaide who wants to escape to a new world, away from an arranged marriage, and she must join the Glittering Court to make her wish possible. But hiding her identity is going to take an effort.
7. Every Heart a Doorway (Seanan McGuire)
Children disappearing through holes and other mysterious passageways, and there’s Nancy who has returned home. And tragedy follows. This is a blurb that’s sending a chill down my spine.
8. 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl (Mona Awad)
This book is about body image and self-acceptance (I think I’m going to cry reading it). 13 Ways centres on Lizzie who has never liked how she looks, not even when her friends try to pretty her up. She wants to lose weight but will she accept her inner self?
9. Shelter (Jung Yun)
A story on family, Shelter follows Kyung Cho who has financial troubles and is worried about the future and his family. He doesn’t want support from his parents – he has a strained relationship with them, but something happens that leads them to his doorstep…
10. Lay Down Your Weary Tune (W.B. Belcher)
For lovers of music, this book centres on Eli Page, a famous musician, who is a mystery despite his fame, and a writer named Jack who tries to uncover through Page’s facade. But he is haunted by his own past.
Well, that’s my TBR list for next year (and more to come as 2016 flows on). Have an awesome holiday and Merry Christmas! 🙂
