Know your characters inside and out. If they live in the 1800s, their attitude or personality and voice should echo that period. And you should know why your characters act the way they do.

    Exactly! Knowing one’s characters inside and out helps with consistancy and consistancy is of the upmost importance in (good) writing, especially when one is writing speculative or historical fiction! And beautiful picture by the way, the gown is gorgeous!
